Severn Trent and East Midlands Airport have developed arrangements and procedures for the operation of Aveillant’s holographic radar at the two-turbine Spondon wind farm near the airport.
The Aveillant system ensures that the turbines at Severn Trent’s wind farm do not interfere with the airport’s radar.
Aveillant received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority in 2016 for the radar following extensive testing and field trials.
Aveillant chief executive David Crisp said: “We’re very pleased to see the project completed and to have attained another world-first in radar technology.”
