Capital Power Corp has started commercial operations at its 178MW Bloom wind farm in Kansas.
The company said the project was developed using a 10-year proxy revenue swap agreement with Allianz Risk Transfer, a subsidiary of insurance group Allianz.
Capital Power president and chief executive Brian Vaasjo said: “The completion of Bloom wind is a significant milestone for Capital Power as it is our first wind development project in the US.
“We expect this to be the first of many US wind development projects to reach completion.”
