German solar module manufacturer Recom has commissioned a 12.5MW photovoltaic project in Nicaragua.
The project is first phase of a 100MW complex to be built and commissioned by the end of 2018.
The project, which is located in Puerto Sandino, comprises 46,000 Recom 270W Black Panther mono modules and will generate 18.18 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year.
Recom has already started work on the second 12.5MW phase.
Recom chief executive Hamlet Tunyan said: “The Puerto Sandino solar park is our first venture in Nicaragua and highlights our commitment to deliver high quality products and collaborate with markets that can fully grasp the importance of having access to affordable energy while at the same time preserving natural environment.”
