Turbine manufacturer Senvion has unveiled a 3.6MW turbine optimised for the North American market.
The 3.6M140 was presented at the AWEA Windpower conference and represents an upgrade from the 3.4M140.
Senvion’s new offer is suitable for medium and low wind speeds and is “perfect for pad-constrained projects”.
Senvion also announced an adaptation of the 2Xm modular megawatt class turbines to the North American market.
All turbines will feature optimised aeroacoustics and serration-equipped blades.
Chief executive Jurgen Geissinger said: “By introducing a whole new range of turbines to the North American market, Senvion is taking its product portfolio to the next level.”
