The offshore wind sector has helped boost PNE Wind’s first quarter 2017 results, with the company posting higher sales, output and operating profit than the same period last year.
Sales stood at €20.4m in the first three months of this year, up from €11.9m in the same period last year.
Output was €24.6m, compared with €21.1m in 2016, while operating profit rose slightly to €0.3m in the first quarter of 2017 from €0.2m last year.
PNE said it sold the 584MW Atlantis 1 offshore project to Vattenfall, while the 110MW Gode Wind 3, which it developed, was one of only four offshore projects that received an award in the first German wind farm tender.
PNE Wind chief executive Markus Lesser (pictured) said: “The success in the tender process is proof of the high quality of our projects and demonstrates that we, as a globally operating enterprise, can benefit from experience gained with this system in other countries.
“We will undertake significant investments in the upcoming months to lay the cornerstone for long-term positive development.”
PNE said onshore it is constructing wind farms with a total capacity of 91MW – 59MW in Germany and 32MW in France.
The company said it has further plans to build over 200MW by 2019/2020, primarily in Germany and France.
