NKT has named its new cable-laying vessel NKT Victoria at a ceremony in Karlskrona in Sweden.
The company took delivery of the vessel on 10 April and the first job will be a cable-laying project in the north of Scotland.
NKT said the vessel is capable of laying high-voltage offshore cables based on dynamic positioning capability and using a remotely operated vehicle with cameras and sonar.
NKT Victoria (pictured) will allow the company to provide a turnkey offering including planning, design, manufacturing, installation and related cable-laying services.
NKT president and chief executive Michael Hedegaard Lyng said: “With this cable-laying vessel we are now among the very few AC/DC high-voltage offshore cable system providers to deliver complete turnkey solutions.
“We are well-positioned to continue taking an active part in the growing global market for offshore wind projects and further build on our reputation as a trusted partner in this industry.”
