Blue Water Shipping has supplied specialist equipment to assist with the construction of Suomen Hyötytuuli’s 40MW Tahkoluoto offshore wind farm in Finland.
Blue Water has delivered to Mäntyluoto port in Pori three reach stackers with capacity to lift between 65 and 100 tonnes, one truck and a specially designed root end adaptor with dolly to transport the 63-metre blades.
The equipment has been specially designed by Blue Water’s own engineering department to ensure a “smooth, safe and efficient handling of the blades at the quay and storage area”.
Blue Water has also provided one project manager to liaise with Suomen Hyötytuuli and turbine supplier Siemens.
It will also provide terminal assistants.
The project will consist of 10 Siemens 4MW turbines and is expected to be complete in autumn 2017.
