Consultancy Partrac has been awarded a contract to carry out an oceanographic survey for the 48MW Kincardine floating offshore wind farm, which will be located 15km off the coast of Scotland near Aberdeen.
The survey will help to determine specific wave, current and tidal level data to support the development, consenting and engineering design for the project, Partrac said.
The work will take at least six months and includes supply and installation of all oceanographic equipment, servicing, vessel supply, data quality control, analysis and reporting.
Partrac project director Sam Athey said: “Partrac are delighted to have been selected through a competitive tender for this innovative project.”
Atkins and Pilot Offshore are planning to build the project, which will feature eight 6MW turbines.
