C-bed’s floating hotel Wind Solution has started work at the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm during the final phase of construction.
The vessel (pictured) will host up to 115 workers, who will be taken out to the project site by 20 crew transfer vessels.
C-bed said that deploying the floating hotel to house workers will save two to three hours of transfer time each day, despite the project only lying 13km off the UK’s south coast.
On site, the workers will contribute towards commissioning the site’s 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW wind turbines.
The wind park is expected to produce its first power during the summer.
