Seaway Heavy Lifting crane vessel Oleg Strashnov has completed installation of the two offshore substations for Dong Energy’s 660MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The two structures were built by Engie Fabricom and Iemants.
MHI Vestas will supply 40 V164 8MW turbines optimised to 8.25MW to the first phase of project, while Siemens will deliver 47 7MW machines for the second phase.
Walney 3 is scheduled to be fully commissioned in 2018.
