Solar Frontier Americas has sold the 40MW Midway 2 solar plant in California to a subsidiary of Dominion Energy.
The project is located in Imperial county and consists of approximately 242,000 Solar Frontier modules mounted on Nextracker single-axis solar trackers.
It has a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Imperial Irrigation District, the third largest public power utility in California.
Midway 2 is part of Solar Frontier America’s 106MW Midway portfolio.
Solar Frontier Americas chief operating officer Charles Pimentel said: “We’re pleased Dominion is expanding its assets with a solar project developed by Solar Frontier Americas.”
Dominion vice president, business development and merchant operations for the company’s generation operating segment Jim Eck said: “This acquisition highlights Dominion’s ongoing commitment to owning and operating renewable energy generation.”
