Solarcentury has acquired a 400MW pipeline of utility-scale photovoltaic projects across Latin America and has appointed a new lead in the region.
The UK developer has bought a mix of ready to build and partially-developed sites in five countries from private equity investor ECOSolar, it said.
It has also hired four new employees, including a new head for the region. Enrique de Ramon will lead the team, while Fernando Zuñiga will lead development across the area apart from Mexico.
The staff will be based in Panama City, the company’s regional hub.
“The project pipeline for the whole of Solarcentury’s Latam business is now over 1GW,” de Ramon said. “The team and I look forward to growing this further.”
