The 2000-tonne offshore substation platform for the 400MW Rampion wind farm has departed Rosyth in Scotland for the project site off the Sussex Coast.
Babcock International was contracted to deliver design, engineering, procurement and construction of the offshore substation platform topside and jacket at its facility at Rosyth.
Rampion will consist of MHI Vestas 3.45MW turbines and is scheduled to be complete in 2018
Eon, the Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge are investors in the project.
