The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is seeking comments on a draft supplemental environmental impact statement (SEIS) for the 468MW Cape Wind offshore project off the US east coast.
The supplement to the 2009 final EIS has been prepared in response to a 2016 order from the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to provide more adequate geological surveys of the project site.
BOEM has responsibility for carrying out the impact assessment for the project.
Interested parties have until 15 May to submit comments on the draft SEIS to BOEM.
The project, which still holds a federal offshore wind lease for a 46-square-mile area between Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Island, has been beset by more than two dozen lawsuits that have held up progress.
