The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has until 28 June to make a decision on whether or not to approve ScottishPower Renewables’ 1.2GW East Anglia 3 offshore wind farm off the Suffolk coast.
The Planning Inspectorate sent its recommendations on the project to the Secretary of State on 28 March.
SPR’s proposed East Anglia 3 features up to 172 turbines in an area of 305 square km in the northern portion of the EA zone.
The developer is currently working on the zone’s 714MW first phase, which will feature Siemens 7MW turbines to be installed in 2019.
