German offshore service provider Opus Marine has won a contract from Eon to provide crew transfers during the construction of the 385MW Arkona wind farm in the Baltic Sea.
Opus Marine crew transfer vessels Vivace and Presto will be deployed on the job. A third vessel named Deveron will be also be pressed into action to tackle maintenance works at the Arkona met mast.
Construction of the 60-turbine project is slated to kick off this summer. Full commercial operation is expected to be reached in 2019.
The project area is located some 35 kilometres north-east of Rugen island.
