Vaisala’s Triton Wind Profiler has successfully measured wind activity in northern Finland for operator Puhuri for two winters.
The low power mobile unit has an optional methanol-fueled option to supplement the Triton’s solar panels during low sunlight months providing continuous operation.
The profiler has been deployed at over 3700 locations across more than 30 countries worldwide, Vaisala said.
Puhuri technical expert Teppo Hilakivi said: “Vaisala’s Triton is the only practical way to reduce the uncertainty in our annual energy projections, allowing us to improve the profitability of our development process.
