Van Oord has hired UK outfit Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) to provide temporary power during the construction of the 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
MRE said 20kVA generators will be used to provide power for secondary works on the transition pieces at the wind farm.
The contract is the second MRE has secured at Nordsee 1, with Senvion hiring the company to provide temporary power to the 54 turbines during installation.
MRE director Eric Briar said: “Van Oord is a new client, but one that we will look forward to working with on a long term basis.”
