SgurrEnergy has appointed Claus Hjoerringgaard as director of clean energy.
He will head the renewable energy and grid integration consultancy from its Glasgow headquarters, the company said.
Hjoerringgaard (pictured) has 25 years’ experience in the power and renewables sector. Most recently he held senior global senior positions at Mott MacDonald and Fichtner Consulting Engineers.
SgurrEnergy, which provides engineering and technical advisory, is a unit of the Wood Group.
“We see significant opportunities in broadening our clean energy capabilities and leveraging Wood Group’s full global capabilities,” Wood Group vice-president of clean energy, water and climate Jan Dell said.
“Claus will provide the leadership and experience the company needs as it continues to evolve.
“Claus’ primary focus is on building a comprehensive technical advisory, engineering, asset management and optimisation services company. “
