Rampion readies for turbine run

Jack-up vessel MPI Discovery has arrived at the site of Eon’s 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the Sussex coast to start turbine installation.

An Eon spokeswoman said: “Construction is yet to start but due to commence shortly.”

Rampion will consist of 116 MHI Vestas 3.45MW turbines and is scheduled to be complete in 2018.

The UK Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge are also investors in the project.
