All technologies across the energy industry should work more closely and speak with one voice to maximise job and business opportunities, according to RenewableUK chief executive Hugh McNeal.
McNeal (pictured), who was speaking at the East of England Energy Group SNS2017 conference in Norfolk, said the energy industry needs to represent itself as one sector containing different technologies.
“We can’t afford to focus inwards and focus on the value of different technologies,” he said.
“All of us who work in energy must work together and we must take responsibility to end public attacks on one technology or another,” he added.
McNeal also called for an end to political parties supporting one technology over another.
“We need a balanced approach – one which recognises business and employment opportunities from all energy sectors,” he said.
