UK companies CoGen and Peel Environmental plan to develop a £400m portfolio of energy-from-waste (EfW) projects across Britain.
The partners aim to build facilities with a total capacity of 105MW, they said.
They also plan to commission a 21.5MW biomass plant at Peel’s Protos development in Cheshire this year.
The £100m waste wood facility will be the fourth EfW plant built by CoGen, a developer of advanced gasification plants.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Peel Environmental and are excited to be working with them going forward to deliver multiple similar projects,” CoGen chief executive Ian Brooking said.
“CoGen has a significant pipeline of projects coming through and is now firmly established as the major player in advanced gasification in the UK.”
