Uptake Technologies is to provide wind farms in MidAmerican Energy and BHE Renewables portfolio with its Uptake Wind system in order to boost availiability and operations and maintenance.
The two wind farm operators, subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, own about 5GW of capacity around the world.
Uptake expects to offer the solution to other wind owners in the autumn and is developing additional analytics applications across renewables.
The system allows engineering and operations teams to quickly discover, investigate and track problems that cause downtime across a diverse fleet.
It also detects, analyzes and resolves underperformance issues, as well as provide recommendations to optimize production.
MidAmerican Energy and BHE Renewables president and chief executive Bill Fehrman said: “After exploring a number of data analytic solutions to optimize productivity, particularly through actionable insight into operations and maintenance of our wind fleet, we identified Uptake as an ideal partner.
“We wanted software that was more than a dashboard. We want to put data-driven recommendations into the hands of our operational team members, so they can drive business value directly.”
