The European Investment Bank has awarded a €38m loan to the ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie in northwestern Poland.
The funding will improve the facilities’ access from the sea and quay infrastructure, the bank said.
Szczecin port is a hub for offshore wind due to its location near the German border. Steel foundation manufacturer Bilfinger Mars Offshore – now ST3 Offshore – is based on site.
The ports, which are managed by the same authority, are receiving €280m in total under the bank’s infrastructure and environment programme.
