Dutch company Heinen & Hopman is to fabricate and install the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system for the offshore substation for Dong Energy’s 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm in the German North Sea.
Heinen & Hopman has been hired by fellow Dutch outfit HSM Offshore, which has the EPC contract to build the high voltage AC transformer platform.
The HVAC contract involves the supply of the dehumidification, ventilation and heating and cooling systems, as well as the control systems.
The substation is scheduled for delivery in 2018.
