Japanese company Mitsui OSK Lines plans to acquire 5% of Marubeni Corp’s share in Seajacks International, which operates five jack-up vessels in the offshore wind market.
The stake will be Mitsui OSK Lines’ first move into renewable energy.
UK-based Seajacks is owned by Marubeni and Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, a government-sponsored private equity company.
Seajacks vessels include Kraken, Leviathan, Hydra, Zaratan and Scylla (pictured).
