BEIS will publish a clean growth plan in June according to Conservative MP James Heappey.
The Wells MP and former DECC select committee member said BEIS has renamed its long-awaited emissions reduction plan to “clean growth plan.”
“The emissions reduction plan is now the clean growth plan and (the publication date of) April will be more like June,” he added.
The plan will set out how the government intends to meet the targets set out in the fifth carbon budget published last year.
Heappey was speaking at the RenewableUK Wave and Tidal conference in Westminster.
In a related development, BEIS select committee chairman Iain Wright said the scrutiny body would consider investigating BEIS’ decision to remove the minima for wave and tidal from the Contracts for Difference.
