Argyll and Bute Council has approved ScottishPower Renewables plans for the up to 36MW Beinn an Tuirc Phase 3 wind farm on the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland.
The project, which will consist of 18 turbines, will add to the 64 machines generating 73.4MW at phases 1 and 2.
SPR chief executive Keith Anderson said: “With today’s successful planning decision, we now have nearly 70MW of consented onshore wind in Scotland.
“We will be working closely with the Scottish government and the UK government to look at options for supporting further onshore wind farm construction, and we hope that we can build this project in time to meet its 2022 grid connection date.”
