Atlantis Resources has installed the fourth and final turbine at Phase 1A of its flagship MeyGen tidal array in the Pentland Firth.
The Atlantis AR1500 tidal stream turbine was deployed in less than 60 minutes following earlier connection of its proprietary wet mate connection management system.
The Lockheed Martin designed Atlantis 1500 device is rated at 1.5MW.
The deployment by Mojo Maritime, part of James Fisher and Son, is the marine service outfit’s 15th tidal turbine installation.
The installation coincides with Mojo’s rebranding to James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS).
“Not only have we hit a monumental milestone as a company, we have completed installation of the fourth tidal turbine at MeyGen,” said JFMS project manager John Goddard.
“MeyGen has been a fantastic, innovative and forward thinking project to work on and we’re excited for what the future holds.”
