US authorities have cleared the merger between Gamesa and Siemens Wind Power.
The approval was granted today, according to the Spanish company.
Gamesa and Siemens now need the clearance from the European Union, which is expected by 13 March.
All individual countries involved in the deal have already approved it, a Gamesa spokeswoman told reNEWS.
The companies signed binding agreements to merge their wind businesses in June, creating a company with €20bn turbine order book.
Both sets of shareholders have already approved the deal, which is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of the year.
