Palfinger Marine has won a contract to supply platform cranes to Dong Energy’s 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm in the German North Sea.
Borkum Riffgrund 2 will feature 56 MHI Vestas’ 8MW turbines, with a platform crane to be installed on each transition piece.
Located some 54km off the coast of Lower Saxony, the project is next to Dong Energy’s 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm, in operation since October 2015.
Borkum Riffgrund 2 is expected to be fully commissioned in 2019.
