SSE has provisionally secured agreements to provide 840MW of hydro electricity and pumped storage generation capacity from October 2017 to September 2018 in the latest UK capacity market auction.
The auction cleared at a price of £6.95 per kilowatt, according to the provisional results published on 3 February, SSE said.
The results are subject to confirmation by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, it added.
SSE also secured 3611MW of coal, gas-fired and embedded power generating plant, bringing a total value to the company of £30.9m from the auction.
