Goldman Sachs-controlled New Energy Investment (NEI) has sold 6.3% of the 13.3% it owns of Dong Energy’s outstanding shares to institutional investors.
The investor sold 26.5m shares of the offshore wind developer at Dkr245 each, raising about Dkr6.49bn (€872.5m).
NEI launched an accelerated bookbuilding offering on Thursday, which was initially for a 5.4% interest before being increased in size later in the day.
Following the deal it will retain a 7% interest in the outstanding shares of Dong, or about 29.4m shares.
The Danish company said it will not receive any proceeds from the transaction.
It completed an initial public offering in June, listing about 17.4% of its shares on Nasdaq Copenhagen at an initial price of Dkr235 each.
