K2 Management backed Japan’s Itochu with due diligence services during its acquisition of a 22.5% equity stake in the 288MW Butendiek wind farm in the German North Sea.
The consultancy said it focused on performance and technology, project life and long-term operational expenditure and O&M strategy.
It is Itochu’s first offshore wind investment in Europe.
K2 head of global due diligence Simon Luby said a “close working relationship” with the investor was a key driver in a successful outcome.
