Fred Olsen Windcarrier jack-up Brave Tern has started installing turbines at Iberdrola’s 350MW Wikinger wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The vessel is installing the first of 70 Adwen 5MW machines at the site off the island of Rugen, the Spanish utility said.
Brave Tern reached the site on 18 January after loading out the initial components at the Port of Sassnitz-Mukran earlier in the month.
The offshore wind farm, Iberdrola’s first in Germany, is scheduled to start operating by the end of the year.
