Irish tidal energy company OpenHydro has appointed Patrick Gougeon as its new chief executive.
The company, which is part of DCNS Energies, said the appointment signals the company’s “ongoing drive towards commercialisation of its tidal technology”.
Gougeon (pictured) was previously chief executive at Colibrys, a high-technology industrial company based in Switzerland.
He will operate out of OpenHydro’s Dublin offices and its technical centre in Greenore in Louth.
Gougeon said: “My immediate focus is to ensure that we are well placed for the next stage of growth and opportunities that lie ahead, with the right people, organisation, technology and partners in place.”
