Vattenfall has narrowed the underground onshore cable route for the 1.8GW Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farm to a 700-metre corridor from a 3km–7km area previously.
The Swedish company said the plans will be revealed to local people and communities this week in a feedback summary report on last autumn’s seven public engagement events.
It added that the narrowing of the search area allows for more focused ecological surveys.
The developer has said previously it will bring power from the site ashore between Bacton and Eccles-on-Sea and will run an underground cable some 60km to connect to the National Grid near Necton.
Vattenfall project development manager for Norfolk Vanguard Ruari Lean said: “We spoke with nearly eight hundred people last autumn and as a result we have been able to make good progress on the development of Norfolk Vanguard.
“We have managed to narrow the search area for the cable route from what was around 7000 metres at its widest to 700 since the public engagement last autumn.
“We are looking forward to discussing these plans with people in March and then refining the route further later this year with the benefit of more local feedback.”
