Fred Olsen Windcarrier jack-up vessel Brave Tern has reached the site of Iberdrola’s 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea to start installation of Adwen 5MW turbines.
An Iberdrola spokesperson said installation of the 70 machines is “on schedule” and will start imminently.
Brave Tern reached Mukran Port in early January for the load-out of components.
In November, Bladt Industries delivered the final jacket foundations to the Wikinger site, while the first nacelles and tower segments arrived at the port.
Boskalis Giant 7 completed piling for the foundations in December, with Taklift 4 on the job for jacket installation.
Wikinger is slated to be operational by the end of this year.
