Enel Green Power has signed “master supply agreements” with a trio of “top tier” wind turbine manufacturers to support a 3.5GW build out target in the US.
The developer said it is on track to double its operating capacity in the country over the next four years and has tapped the three unnamed suppliers to provide hardware.
“This purchase further strengthens our position in the market as a leader in renewable energy and will also lead to millions in local economic investment and the creation of thousands of jobs as we execute the construction and operation of these plants,” said Enel’s US boss Rafael Gonzalez.
It is working on an 800MW 2017 portfolio of wind and solar including the 200MW Cimarron Bend 1 wind farm in Kansas and 300MW Rock Creek project in Missouri.
