German officials have given the green light to the Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
The wind farm was developed by PNE Wind and was officially transferred to Dong following approval by maritime agency BSH. It is expected to total up to 316MW.
“Once the planning permission was issued, the already negotiated sale of the project to Danish energy group Dong could be finalised,” said PNE.
Gode Wind 3 is close to the 582MW Gode Wind 1&2, also developed by PNE and built by Dong. Those projects are currently being commissioned.
PNE chief executive Markus Lesser said: “The path to obtaining the planning permission has not always been easy. The intensive work and high quality of the project ensured our success, which will also be reflected by a milestone payment to PNE.”
The developer has secured five German offshore wind planning permissions to date.
