French company Engie is partnering with the National Renewable Energies Agency in Senegal with the aim of speeding up development of renewable energy in the African country.
As part of the agreement, Engie will promote clean power by providing professional training to local industries and carry out energy performance assessments for companies to help them reduce electricity consumption.
The company will also develop solar energy projects for individuals in multi-occupancy or individual housing to deliver electricity and hot water.
The partners said they will look at different financing solutions to provide the equipment needed to carry out the work.
