Vestas is to supply turbines totalling 200MW to Alterra Power’s Flat Top wind farm in Texas.
The Danish company will supply 100 V100 2MW machines and provide service and maintenance to the project for 10 years.
Alterra has also signed a construction services agreement with EPC contractor Blattner Energy for the wind farm.
It added that it is currently negotiating a “power hedge” as Flat Top’s primary revenue contract.
Alterra vice president of wind Paul Rapp said: “The execution of these contracts positions us well to finance Flat Top and enter the primary construction phase later this year.
“We look forward to working with Vestas and Blattner as strong partners to ensure the project comes online successfully in the first half of 2018.”
