MHI Vestas has confirmed it will supply 44 8.4MW V164 turbines to the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
A final investment decision has been taken on the project, which is being developed by a joint venture of Eneco, Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generation Europe and Belgium energy company Elicio.
Norther is scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
MHI Vestas chief executive Jens Tommerup said: “Historically, MHI Vestas has had a strong footprint in the Belgium market and we know that our technology is well suited to conditions in the region.”
