Nova Scotia is seeking research proposals to develop new approaches for measuring the interaction between in-stream tidal energy devices and the marine environment.
The Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia (OERA), the Nova Scotia Department of Energy and Nova Scotia Innovation Corp are partnering on the initiative that has a $150,000 budget for one or two projects.
The deadline for proposals is 18 January.
OERA executive director Stephen Dempsey said: “This research will not only help us enhance the environmental monitoring of tidal turbines, but it could also lead to the development of new technologies that are developed here and exported abroad.”
