Mitsubishi Corp subsidiary Diamond Generation Europe has agreed to set up a 50:50 joint venture with Dutch energy company Eneco to invest in the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
The JV will hold 50% of the shares in Norther, while the remaining 50% will be held by Belgian energy services company Nethys.
The three partners will develop, construct and operate the wind farm, Mitsubishi said.
Construction of Norther, which will comprise 44 MHI Vestas 8.4MW turbines, is slated to start in January.
The wind farm is scheduled to be operational during the summer of 2019.
