The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking consultants to help develop offshore wind in the US state.
It plans to select experts through a competitive process for three-year contracts worth a total of up to $1.5m, with an option for a two-year extension.
The aim is to provide support in several areas, including project development and permitting assistance, site selection and desktop development studies, and offshore wind cost analyses.
NYSERDA also seeks assistance in more fully understanding issues and opportunities related to grid interconnection for offshore wind, as well as developing stakeholder engagement and the supply chain.
It is also looking for help analysing economic options to support offtake agreements that optimize the value to ratepayers.
The funding will come from the Clean Energy Fund, a component of Governor Andrew Cuomo’ s Reforming the Energy Vision strategy for New York.
Applications for one or more of the areas are due by 12 January, NYSERDA said.
