Georgia Power has completed a 42MW DC solar plant for the US Army at Fort Stewart in Georgia.
The company will own and operate the facility, which consists of approximately 139,200 ground-mounted photovoltaic panels across 250 acres.
The $75m facility, near Hinesville, is the fourth completed by Georgia Power in collaboration with the US military.
The company has developed solar farms for the army at Forts Benning and Gordon and for the Department of the Navy at the Kings Bay submarine base.
Construction of a fifth project at Marine Corps logistics base Albany is currently underway, Georgia Power said.
