Vestas has won a deal to supply turbines to CWP Renewables’ 270MW Sapphire wind farm in New South Wales, Australia.
The manufacturer will deliver 75 V126-3.45MW machines optimised to 3.6MW, the Danish outfit said.
The order also includes an active output management service contract for at least 10 years.
The Sapphire wind farm, located near the town of Glen Innes, is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2018.
Vestas will build the project in partnership with civil and electrical contractor Zenviron.
“The Sapphire Wind Farm is a big step forward for renewable energy in Australia and we thank CWP Renewables and Partners Group for choosing Vestas on this landmark project,” Vestas Asia Pacific head of sales Gerard Carew said.
“We look forward to delivering a safe and successful project and further strengthening our relationship in the years ahead.”
