Engie Fabricom has won a contract from SSE for the first phase of a grout remediation project on the 504MW Greater Gabbard wind farm off the Suffolk coast.
The contractor will remediate “grout connection subsidence” between the piles and transition pieces, it said.
Development work is taking place at the company’s Middlesbrough facility before offshore activities start in the second quarter of 2017 on 20 foundations initially.
Engie Fabricom said it will be responsible for all aspects of the job including project management, vessel charter, multi-technical installation and certified handover.
The company has completed “very similar” remediation projects for more than 130 turbines in both UK and Dutch waters, it said.
