Norwegian shipyard Ulstein is sea trialling a service operation vessel (SOV) that will be chartered to Siemens Wind Power Service.
Ulstein said “progress is good and testing so far has been successful”.
The vessel will be delivered in 2017 and will tackle long-term duty at Vattenfall’s 576MW Sandbank/Dan Tysk projects in the North Sea.
The SOV is the second built for Bernhard Schulte Offshore that is destined for charter with Siemens.
The first vessel is currently working on the 600MW Gemini wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands.
